PIWIS Tester 4  is the Porsche factory-developed diagnostic coding and programming tool. It stands for Porsche Integrated Workshop Information System. Porsche dealer technicians use this tool to perform a multitude of diagnostic and repair functions on your car. There are 3 generations of testers, the original which I believe can handle cars up to the 2014  model year, the PIWIS II which handles cars up to and including the 2017 model year, and the current PIWIS IV which handles all cars including the 2022 model year. Naturally, if your car is under warranty, then you don’t need this tool. Let the dealer handle any issues that come up.

NOTE: This is the dealership OEM original system, we only warranty this system work with the original Genuine PT4G VCI or PT4G Ev2 VCI kit.

Porsche Piwis Tester IV works with the old and latest Porsche cars. It is equipped with the Panasonic laptop and original software for the test. Porsche Piwis Tester IV can help you diagnose and program the newest and old kinds of Porsche cars. For example 911(997)(991), Boxster/Cayman, (987), Cayenne up to MY 2010, Cayenne from MY 2011, and Panamera.

New Panamera can only be diagnosed by using Porsche Piwis Tester IV. Based on current project planning, all earlier vehicle models will gradually be changed over to the new Porsche Piwis Tester IV by the end of 2010. Porsche PIWIS Tester IV covers all-new Porsche models like the new Panamera 971, Cayenne 9Y0 E3, Panamera 992, Cayman 982 GT4 Clubsport, and many others, which are not supported by PIWIS II at all and will never be supported in the future.

Support for Porsche. Piwis Tester I will no longer be available once the earlier diagnostic programs have been transferred to Porsche Piwis Tester IV. When Porsche Piwis Tester IV is distributed, it will contain one basic piece of software. This is necessary in order to start and configure the tester. This system will support Porsche Macan CarPlay activation with PPN online remote support, it won’t support the Porsche CarPay fullscreen activation.
